Remembering Roger: A Beloved Street Dog’s Journey of Love, Loss, and Loyalty
Meet Roger, a beloved male street dog who lived in our colony for 8 years under the care of a watchman’s family. Daily fed, ABC, and ARV vaccinations were done, and Roger was always healthy and active. He was one of our feeder dogs.
After his caretakers left he was living on the road. Recently, during our routine check-up, Roger was missing for two days. Then, we got a heartbreaking call—Roger was found in pain after being hit by a vehicle. We rushed him to Care & Cure Hospital, where he received initial treatment. He was then transferred to Happy Home Shelter in Madhapur for further care.
Despite the medical attention and shelter care, Roger couldn’t survive the accident. It’s devastating to lose such a loyal companion. Roger’s four-year journey with us brought both joy and sorrow, but we’ll forever cherish the moments we shared with him. Street dogs face uncertain lives, and we can never know when tragedy might strike.
Neglected but Not Forgotten: Rescuing a Street Dog’s Broken Spirit and Journey to Recovery
This dog lived in the streets of Vengal Rao Nagar and found comfort under a catering owner. One night the dog met with an accident. Its right foot bone was broken. Then it was taken to the hospital by the owner on the advice of a social worker.
The doctor advised both to go for an operation. But both of them neglected it and left the dog on the road not following doctors’ advice. The owner was advised by someone that it would heal on its own.We only learned about the dog’s worsening condition much later. Seeing its pain, we immediately took it to the hospital for proper treatment.
The dog went through a 3-hour major operation. The broken bone was joined and the clips were fixed. Now, it’s recovering in a shelter home. Full recovery will take at least a month and a half, but thanks to timely care, the road to healing has begun.
Initially, people understood their mistake and shared part of the expense. Still, part of the doctor’s bill and a major part of the shelter bills are pending no one has responded until now. We have to settle it by ourselves. The harsh reality is it’s quite common in rescues.
Chitku’s Second Chance: Rescued from a Brutal Attack, Now Thriving Thanks to Timely Care
This is the story of Chitku a 6-month-old female dog who suddenly appeared one day in our area. Initially, it took quite a bit of time to adjust to our local dogs but it was a smart dog so it managed to adjust here. It became one of our feeder dogs and was very friendly.
One sad day chitku was found profusely bleeding from the leg region soo heavy that we couldn’t control the bleeding. It was running away from us and wherever it stopped it left a pool of blood.
We succeeded in taking her to the Allvet Hospital Banjara Hills. Dr. Jasline and her staff attended chitku. We took her just at the right time as she was on the verge of death. that’s how we were able to save her.
On investigating from CCTV we found out that a knife sharpening vendor came to our colony and threw the knife at her which caused her so much pain and suffering.
Chitku was hospitalized for some days and took a long time to recover fully. Its ABC operation was done and now she’s happily living. But we couldn’t find that vendor after that.
